Medical Technology Transfer Centre

About the MTTC

The Medical Technologies Transfer Centre was established in accordance with Order No. 40 of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation of 28 January 2022 ‘On the Medical Technology Transfer Centre’ for the implementation of the Federal Project ‘Medical Science for Human’.

Main objective

The Centre’s main objective is provision of overall expert assistance and support for medical and pharmaceutical innovations throughout their lifecycle, starting from elaboration of the idea and ending with industrial implementation and commercial use.   

Key functions:

• identification of and granting of legal protection to intellectual property generated in applied research on medicine and healthcare;
• consultations on the development and implementation of commercialization strategies for intellectual property;
• consultations on the organization and holding of patent auctions;
• development of recommendations for pre-clinical and clinical studies of medicines, technical tests and clinical trials of medical devices;
• elaboration of funding mechanisms for early-phase clinical trials of medicines based on the venture capital investment principles;
• consultations on implementation and indications for the use enlargement of innovative medicines, medical devices, prevention/diagnosis/treatment/rehabilitation methods, new materials used in the production of personalized medical devices;
  
• assistance in the commercialization of innovative solutions and products, screening of industrial partners, advising on commercial strategies and legal issues;
  
• creation and maintenance of registers of promising projects under development, high-potential manufacturers of medicines and medical devices, centers performing preclinical and clinical studies of medicines, technical tests and clinical trials of medical devices.
  

The MTTC structure

The Centre includes several dedicated functional units that ensure broad competencies in various professional areas:

Drugs Analysis and Project Management Department: assistance in medicines research and development projects at all the stages of products implementation into the field of medical use.

Department of Analysis and Project Management for Medical Devices: assistance in medical devices and new materials for use in medical devices production research and development projects at all the stages of products implementation into the field of medical use.

Developments Commercialization Department: assistance in the commercialization of innovative solutions and products in the field of medicine and healthcare.

Intellectual Property Management Department: improving the efficiency of intellectual property management in organizations working for the interests in the medicine and healthcare.

Project Management Department: management of the projects activities and execution of auxiliary functions.
